Yes. The drawing tools are free to use. You can draw, add shapes and text, work with layers, and export your artwork without spending AI credits.

Sign in to use the built-in AI features and buy credits. You do not need a personal API key. An internet connection is required for online AI features.

AI Paint requires macOS 14.4 or later. Check the Mac App Store for the latest released version. Features and available AI models can differ between the App Store release and a TestFlight build.

Draw on the canvas, then open the AI prompt panel and describe the result you want. In the upcoming update, Auto mode uses your drawing as the reference, or creates a new image when the canvas is empty. In older versions, choose Edit and select the area you want to work on.

Select the area you want to change and describe the edit in the AI prompt panel. In the upcoming update, editing without a selection uses the whole canvas, and results appear on a new AI layer so your original artwork remains available.

Available options depend on your app version, the selected model, and current service availability. Not every model supports the same sizes, image counts, transparent backgrounds, or quality levels. Support for newer GPT Image models is being prepared for an app update.

Check your internet connection, note the error message, and confirm your credit balance before retrying. If the problem continues, email us with your app version, model, settings, and the approximate time of the request. If credits appear to be missing, let us know so we can investigate.

The app shows the credit cost before you create. The amount depends on the selected model, quality, size, and number of images. Credit packs are available as in-app purchases; Apple shows the purchase price before you confirm.

Make sure the purchase completed and that you are signed into the same AI Paint account used for the purchase. Reopen the app to refresh your balance. If the credits are still missing, contact us with the purchase date and Apple order or transaction reference. Please do not purchase the pack again just to troubleshoot.

Refund requests for purchases billed by Apple can be submitted through Apple’s Report a Problem service. If your issue concerns a missing credit balance or a failed AI request, you can also contact us directly.

Save your project in AI Paint’s native document format to keep its layers and editable elements. Use Export when you want a PNG, JPEG, or SVG to share. Keep a saved copy of your project before troubleshooting.

If your version includes an Account section in Settings, you can request account deletion there. If you cannot sign in or cannot find that option, contact us for help. Our Privacy Policy explains how account and service data are handled.
